Kinematics and wake of free bodies
The close coupling between the kinematics of three-dimensional bodies such as finite-length cylinders, plates or rings and the motion of a fluid around them determines the behavior of the joint system whether in stationary or rectilinear, periodic or chaotic regimes. In addition, the presence of numerous degrees of freedom can give rise to new purely three-dimensional system behaviors, as well as periodic deformations in the case of flexible bodies.
